A few days ago we visited the magnificent facilities of a new client. Dry, cold and frozen warehouses. Pallet trucks, order pickers and retractable trucks.
And wheels? All 93º polyurethane, in new or coated wheels.
There is still a lot of ignorance about the variety of possible tread materials, each with different characteristics and uses.
In favor of polyurethane wheels or coatings there is only the price, a saving that in many cases is not such if we take into account the different durability, assembly/disassembly times or possible breakdowns caused in the “machine.”
If we want to use a more appropriate material, it is essential to make a small assessment of the circumstances and thus be able to recommend the most appropriate material.
A couple of examples that we observed in the facilities:
– Pallet truck rollers with premature breaks due to the entry and exit of trucks during their unloading tasks. We would try #vulkollan® 93º and Pevodyn-Soft® 78º.
– Drive wheel in a fresh and frozen warehouse with certain traction problems. It would be necessary to evaluate, from lowest to highest grip, Pevodyn-Soft® 78º, Tractothan® 93º and Vulkollan® Quartz 94º.
Don’t stick with the “yellow” wheels/rollers. Tell us the situation and at Slind Parts we will recommend the material that best suits your needs. We have more than 15 RÄDER-VOGEL Räder- und Rollenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG compounds at your disposal.
Talk later.
