Even starting from the management on a warehouse map with the stock of the most common components, many of its parts are manufactured in external collaborating companies or sent outside for some machining or treatment. At a logistical level, the SGA considers these external companies as logical warehouses to know their stock and the status of the outsourced work at all times. And upon receipt, these special parts are supplied directly to the assembly lines, maintaining their complete traceability in the WMS.
In the reception of purchases, the SGA decides, through its specific PDA programs, whether the material received is placed in a guided manner in the warehouse or if it has to be taken to an assembly area because the work order has already been issued. corresponding. And for the supply from the warehouse to the different assembly lines, some multi-division carts that the client already had have been used, to be able to carry in a guided manner from the WMS the parts and components that each project needs.
As Ramón Salat, C.I.O., explains to us. of the company and responsible for the project, this is what was achieved with the implementation of AS-SGA:
“With the implementation of AS Software’s EMS, we have improved and optimized all the logistics processes of our company: supplier receptions, production supplies, shipments and inventory taking. By incorporating barcode labels and portable RF terminals , logistics operations have been completely paperless.
On the other hand, thanks to the bidirectional communication between the WMS and the ERP, data between both systems is exchanged in real time, which allows reliable and updated information on the status of the warehouse and its workload.”
