Element Logic continues to revolutionize the online shopping experience. The automation and intralogistics specialist has installed an AutoStore solution equipped, for the first time in the world, with the new publicly accessible port PickUpPort in the new store of the retailer Thansen in Copenhagen (Denmark). This technology allows customers to collect their online orders directly from AutoStore.
From now on, customers will have the possibility to order a product online and pick it up almost immediately at the thansen store in Rødovre at any time of the day. Soon, the group’s goal is to implement similar systems in another 10 stores throughout 2024.
Founded in 1991, Thansen specializes in the sale of a wide range of components and equipment for automobiles and other vehicles, as well as camping equipment and other recreational equipment. By installing this system, the Denmark-based company offers its customers more flexibility, autonomy and a seamless omnichannel shopping experience.
The new AutoStore solution implemented by Element Logic in the new Thansen store consists of 14 robots and more than 18,000 buckets.
Despite its relatively modest size, the storage and picking system houses more than 32,000 of the 200,000 items available in thansen, allowing storage space to be significantly optimized. This means customers have access to a much wider range of products directly in store, eliminating the need to order them from a central warehouse.
