As R&D Engineer you will have the opportunity to take part in the development of innovative solutions for the smart home automation of the future.

Your responsibilities
Conducting electronic project development from the very first concept design, along the development process, including testing and product functionality verification through prototypes or simulations, till the product certification and first manufacturing approval.
Manage electronics projects together with external or internal design teams.
Using Gate Model as a tool to manage project status, progress, cost, lead time and quality and coordinating with cross functional teams across Europe or wider to achieve key deliverables.
Close collaboration with product management locally and globally , stakeholders, R&D teams internals and externals and other partners, internal and external electronic product manufacturing partners, test engineers, purchasing etc. all over the world.
Good view on the technology trend that impacts new product development and maintain ABB product and technology in a leading position.
Secure product quality and continuous improvement of new and existing products.
Other assignments e.g. process improvement, support SW and test teams, laboratory, etc.
Your background
You’re an engineer with a true interest in technology.
Preferably B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electronics Engineering or similar with several years working experience.
Experience and knowledge in the following fields of application is appreciated:
Smart home automation: IoT technologies and platforms, cloud services, wireless communications, user mobile applications.
Home automation power electronics: Light dimmers, blind (shutter) controls, relay actuators, movement detectors, up to 100 W power supplies.
Electronic development: electronic schemes, PCB layouts, BOM.
Product certification: EU Low Voltage Directive, EMC, Radio Equipment Directive, Cybersecurity.
You have analytical mind and ability to make decisions regarding technical solutions.
You are positive, humble, self-driven and result-oriented.
You have excellent collaboration skills.
